UKA Salsa Bronze, Silver & Gold UKA Medal Courses

UKA Qualifications
The UKA (United Kingdom Alliance of Professional Teachers of Dance), founded 1902, is a corporate member of the British Council of Ballroom Dancing and the Central Council of Physical Recreation. It has gained NVQ accreditation i.e. the government recognises the UKA as an examining body for the National Vocational Qualification.

UKA medal courses leading up to an examination at Bronze, Silver, Gold and
Gold Star levels in Salsa.

You can start training for the medals, when you start learning salsa, as the Bronze level is for beginners, Silver is for intermediate, and Gold is for advanced dancers, and Gold Star is for highest level of all, which is for very accomplished advanced dancers.

The UKA also provide examinations for potential teachers, thus setting a standard and providing the UK salsa world with properly qualified and insured teachers. 

Your Examiner : Ansell Chezan

The Hot Salsa team is working with Ansell Chezan, a Life Member of the ISTD and the IDTA. Fellow and Examiner of the UKA. Chairman of the Latino/Caribbean Committee of the IDO, as well as on the Argentine Tango, and Special Couples Exploratory Committees. A Licensed British Dance Council and World Dance Council IDSF Adjudicator, and Adjudicator for the IDO, also a member of the UKSSDC. 
In 2007 at the UK Salsa Congress, Ansell was presented with
A Lifetime Achievement Award for work with the UK Salsa Scene.

Tony Ainsley is the first UKA Club Dance Salsa LICENTIATE.
He has been a UKA qualified teacher since 1998 and was
the first to be awarded the Licentiate in 2003.
He has been teaching salsa worldwide since the 1980s.
